I currently teach KS2 secondary school children, with whom I like to take a practical approach to teaching. I feel that getting children to do things - or even think about things they do - can help lessons stick.
With undergraduate students, I feel that breaking down complex concepts into stories and smaller chunks really works well. I like to use analogies in teaching, as I feel this helps students to both understand and remember the lesson.
I am a PhD fellow at the University of Bath currently studying dinosaur evolution. I have been teaching children and undergraduate students since 2017, and students have told me that my lessons have been the first time they have really understood the subject. I love to inspire passion and interest in the natural sciences.
