About Sharayah
I am a 4th year B. Sc Specialization in Chemistry student at Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON. I have maintained my position on the Dean's Honor Roll each year attended. I have previous tutoring experience with both individuals and groups. I have worked under a professor in her lab for the two past summers and have also maintained positions as a research and lab assistant at Cambrian College, where I previously attended the Chemical Engineering Technology program.

When teaching I aim to facilitate the individuals learning through both acting as an example and by encouraging them to explore knowledge in the given subject area. When I tutor I have found it best to begin by helping students review their class notes and make 'study' notes for important sections. This allows students to rewrite what they've seen in class in words they can connect with while also allowing them to review the material more thoroughly. In the sciences, it is then important to work through as many sample problems as possible. When doing this I start with working through a few alongside the student and increasingly help them become independent in solving them. I, personally, think many students are natural scientists, they just need to explore ways to connect to the material in a way that they understand.
