Cooking is a life skill , because food is something that we'll have 7 days a week, 365 days a year. I taught myself how to cook from the very basics by experimenting and helping out my mother while she cooked . It is that easy. If the student wishes, then I will Start from the very basics, as every other teacher, by teaching simple techniques like , blanching, poaching , cutting techniques , shape of cuts. i will then talk about the the 5 basic tastes, seasonings, spices and their blends. Then finally i will move on to teaching recipes( this is the fun part!!). I'll teach simple and beautiful recipes from Indian ,Chinese and Italian cuisine to form a base for when you start creating your own recipes!
Or i will teach the student the recipe he or she wishes to learn.
Being an engineering student i was always given surprised reactions when I told people I love to cook. Cooking is so beautiful because unlike any other field, one can invent recipes and surprise themselves and others around them. One single ingredient can be cooked in so many ways. I once cooked for around 12 people attending a party at my aunt's place, and that boosted my interest in cooking even more.
The hourly rate specified above does not include travel charges and ingredients. The price mentioned above will be less for Indians.
I also offer crash courses in which i'll teach you 2 to 3 dishes each in appetizers/soups, mains and deserts. The fee for the crash course will be cheaper than the hourly rate . Contact if interested.

Teaching nana was a very nice experience for me as he was very patient.Even though he was completely new to cooking Indian cuisine, he did really well. a little more practice with seasoning and spices , and he will become even better.
