DBS University(ST Mark & ST John), Bristol— Electronic Music Production degree.
Sep 2015 - Jan 2018
In order to pursue my music career I sought to gain an academic qualification and applied to the DBS course to study for a B.A degree. I submitted a portfolio detailing my music history and achievements. Following interview I was pleased to be offered a place on the M.A course at Bristol and believe the elevation to the M.A syllabus was due to my music portfolio. ( Copy on request)
The DBS tutors had promised a course that would provide me the challenges necessary to further my learning in electronic musical development and production. It quickly became clear that the course would not deliver what was promised.
Very soon after starting I was asked to lecture to both B.A and M.A students because it was evident my knowledge of music production systems exceeded that of the university lecturers.Whilst I appreciated the experience of teaching university level students, this was not my objective and I left the course.
Luke is a good friend and colleague, he works himself so hard making music to play at events all over Europe and just as hard passing on his knowledge. He's a music production master with some mind bending tricks up his sleeve. If I was to learn Music Production, this is the man I'd want to teach me.
I've known Luke for a few years now, he's incredibly passionate about what he does and an all round top lad. He has an extensive knowledge about the music world and many years experience working within it. When it comes to sitting with him in the studio, his patience is solid, his hosting skills are excellent and you are guaranteed to learn something new/mind blowing each session. I highly recommend.
Luke has helped me with and taught me music production fairly regularly over the last few years. He is a really patient, understanding tutor, and always willing to make sure you've understood the concept without making you feel silly for not getting it.
