I believe in a relaxed, bespoke view to teaching as not one method fit all. When teaching people I try to work from the knowledge they already have and base an understanding of the confusing parts on this existing knowledge. I'm patient when teaching and understand that some concepts are very confusing, I'll offer support where needed and try to reword text books around your knowledge and language.
Firstly, I look at what topics the student has to learn and then plan my lessons around that. I like to have 1-to-1 classes with my students talking through how to tackle certain types of problems. Then I give my student examples of the problem to see if they understand the topic and if not then I offer my help. It is important for me to see the student try things on their own with me present.
My main interests are Biology and Health & Social Care, especially Anatomy & Physiology, Immunology, Disease Processes, Health & Hygiene, End of Life Care, Dementia Care. I'm very flexible as I understand that learning styles differ and everyone needs something individual.

I'm a first year student at the University of Nottingham, however I live in Durham city. I have very good recent experience of the current exam system at school and how to get top marks in them.
