I am studying my MPhys degree at the University of York and I am offering maths and physics lessons to student at A level or lower. My lessons will be focused on the most problem topics for each individual student and focused so as to not provide information not required for their exams or current level.
I base my teaching methods on each individual student, identifying areas of weakness or gaps in knowledge and improving those areas with the goal of working through exam questions with confidence in all aspects of the syllabus. I tutor in all maths and science areas up to GCSE and biology, maths and chemistry up to A level.
I am a retired secondary school teacher with over 25 years of teaching Maths up to GCSE level. I vary my teaching approach according to the individual needs of the student and make the subject easy to learn with fun.
Hi I'm Amy, I'm 22 and from Hartlepool. I am a recent graduate in Maths and Psychology from Newcastle University and have experience teaching all ages however I teach mostly GCSE and Alevel students in Maths. Firstly, I will look at the students' syllabus and review what they already know and what they need to know before their exams.
I base my classes around students weakest points and use modern methods to solidify their knowledge
I'm offering Maths lessons for Secondary School students including those studying for their GCSEs. I'm confident at explaining multiple methods which enables the student to choose a way they find easiest rather than forcing one method upon them. I'm also patient therefore I can take time on a specific topic if a student was struggling.
My main beliefs in teaching, especially Maths, is that you must make the topic fun and entertaining and you can do this by using many different types of resources, including online games. I also believe that improving a students confidence is tantamount to success and again this is an area where I have a proven track record of success.
I am a former Police Officer who took early retirement in 2015 and since then I have been working as a part-time Mathematics Tutor with First Class Learning at a Darlington Academy. According to my two years experience, I made a difference to: • Each student’s achievement in mathematics • Each student’s experience of learning mathematics. This includes feelings of satisfaction with meeting challenges, being valued as a person, learning things that have meaning in your life and getting rewards for making significant efforts.
First i being with the theory of the problem introduce the situation by working on a world based question giving the pupil a visual of the problem then ill give worksheets of questions where all of the different methods of the topic is covered. A end of topic test will also be issued.
My teaching method is very largely based on the student. I will tailor tutor sessions to the student where he/she feels the most work is needed. I am also willing to help out by finding extra resources that the student may feel helpful, depending on their learning style.
I understand that not every student will have the same level or method of learning. Therefore, throughout my teaching I obtain feedback to ensure that you are satisfied with my method of teaching. The method I use will be a combination of teaching, allowing discussions so that students can learn from each other, and frequent assessments to evaluate your learning.
I like to let my students lead what lessons they need, be that based on a homework or a particular topic that they haven't understood that week. Each student needs a different speed of learning, if you do not understand something the first time, then I will find a new way of explaining it until you do.
My teaching method is based purely on the student, I like to associate things that the student knows or enjoys to develop their understanding of the topic
I am a college student, who achieved an A* equivalent in GCSE maths, from county Durham and I will be giving maths lessons for primary school pupils. To start off, the student will be given a test which will be completed and marked. From this test, I will find the weakest most areas from the student and then I will tutor the student in those specific areas.

- Classes Children follow a programme, the starting point being determined by an initial assessment. The maths programme is pure maths - from number recognition to GCSE algebra. It includes topics such as shape, time, measurement, area/perimeter, series, etc. We will also help with applied topics as required. We can provide practice papers for school exams (KS1, KS2, GCSE).
I am a doctor in maths with good experience both as a teacher and a tutor from secondary level up to higher education. I focus on giving my students a customised way of improving their skills through examples relating to topics they can handle and thorough practice on harder problems.
My teaching method is very simple. At first I will give a test to my students to identify their strengths and weakness and then we'll take them each at a time to work on it and improve. I aim not just to explain a new lesson but also to help the student to find their own way of proving a theorem or a new idea. I always intend to make the lesson interesting and funny.

- Classes Class Ethos We aim to create a calm and welcoming atmosphere in the class. I have successfully tutored Maths for 5 years. I have a knack of making Maths clearer by starting with the basics (tailored to the individual's starting level), relating the concept to 'real life' then showing the patterns in Maths. As a result the learning of times tables facts, fractions, percentages etc.
Having been tutored myself in my A-levels I have a feel for what works and engages tutees. I like to start off by either giving a mini test to the student to identify weak areas- or if that seems a bit daunting, I would just have a chat with the student about what they would like to focus on. I always end the lesson with a few questions to really make sure we have covered the topic at hand.
