Although every student is individual, I believe the best way to teach is by first explaining and then giving them something to work through themselves.
My teaching method depends on each student, I will find a way that works best for you that you are completely comfortable and happy with.
At the start of the session, we will discuss the topics you would like to go over and I will teach you using different methods. At the end, I will give you questions to check your understanding and we can go over anything as many times as you like! I will also give you questions from previous session/s and go over what you struggled with.
I am a semi retired teacher who has experience teaching all ages and nationalities. I tend to use the communicative teaching methodology and like to build good relationships with my students. My lessons are often student led.
Sessions are tailor-made to meet each student's needs (e.g. pace, learning style, areas for learning that require attention etc). A relaxed approach with a sense of humour enables students to develop both skills and confidence. I mainly focus on KS1 and KS2 level of skills and knowlege because if the fundamental skills are not secure this can impact on further learning.
Former English degree student, graduated with a first class honours degree, offering tutoring to primary age students looking to improve their literary and grammatical understanding.
Sessions are built around student's needs and learning styles, so they are delivered in a way that ideally matches them.
I am an English Literature Graduate who is offering English support to students up to A Level ability. I aim to bring some fresh air into the stuffy school texts and break down topics into bite sized chunks that are easy for any students to digest. My specialty is poetry and Shakespeare (of course!). I am young, fun and enthusiastic, and I believe in everyone's ability to succeed.
My classes are based on using stimulating literature and resources in order to gain the child's interest. I use contemporary teaching methods, a!ongside the more traditional techniques, such as repetition and using memory where necessary. I plan every lesson in accordance with the child's individual needs and am determined to improve their levels of confidence, leading to increased success.
I give lessons to students of A Level standard and below. I can help with literacy, spelling, grammar, creative writing, essay writing, literary analysis and comprehension. I have A*s in GCSE English Literature, GCSE English Language and A Level English Literature.
I am here to give anyone and opportunity to brush up on there English skills wether you are looking for that extra help and nudge for an upcoming exam or you simply need help with your cv or homework I am here to help you succeed so please do not hesitate to contact me.
Firstly, I want to see the students ability and their areas on which they need to improve on. As I am the first year group to complete the new gcse, I understand how you need to revise to be successful. I have a friendly approach to lessons and am very patient. The aim of my lessons is to make steady progress and hopefully help my student to not only progress in English, but to enjoy it too.
Firstly I will gain an understanding of what level you're at with English and what things you specifically want to improve. As each student works differently, we can then target these areas in a way which works best. No matter what level, whether you're in primary school and need additional aid with reading or are in high school and are struggling with mock exams, I should be able to help.
I approach tutoring with lots of experience as a successful English Literature student, encouraging students themselves to drive their learning and giving them the tools they need to fulfil their own potential.
I base my teaching method off of skills I myself have been taught; breaking down essay writing into key sections, such as structure and the use of the PEEL technique, content, key themes of the text and language analysis. I would also be able to provide help with ongoing schoolwork and homework as needed to supplement learning.
Hey! Thanks for having interest and reading.. I am currently an undergraduate and aspire to be helping young people that are going through the same academic challenges as i have gone past during my secondary school and GCSEs.
I am a student in my second year of university who gives lessons in english, literature, literacy and co. to primary, secondary, GCSE and AS level students. To teach, it is ideal to accept that people have different learning methods and I do my best to find which works best for my students.
Each lesson is tailored to the needs of the individual student. With some students it will be listening skills and with others it will be speech that they need help with. I have taught children as young as three through to older adults who were complete beginners. I have also improved the skills of more advanced students.
My teaching method is breaking things down and explaining the concept of classic literature in way my students can understand. I happy to take things at the pace of student and help them to fully understand what they are reading or writing. It is my belief that once the basic story is understood it makes it easier to follow the deeper meaning behind the story.
My name is Annabel Matthews and I am a student from Hertfordshire currently studying for a BA in English from the University of Exeter. I know that everybody learns differently, so will take the time to get to know my students and tailor my lesson plans to suit what individuals need to know and how they will best be able to process the information we cover.
I base teaching sessions around the best teaching style for students in order to build up both academic ability and confidence
I provide academic lessons (in accordance to the national curriculum) to students aged 5 - 11 years old. I also provide piano lessons to students aged 6 - 12 years old. Each session is tailor made to the student. I am familiar with differentiation. No student is the same and therefore I take a flexible approach to my teaching.
I have a unique method of teaching which accounts for all types of learning. I approach every lesson differently, for example not every lesson will be taught behind a desk, some will be outside, some will involve learning from a video or an E - Book as i believe that understanding how a student learns and giving them multiple opportunities to show their knowledge is key.
