My teaching methods envole a lot of practice question. This helped me grasp exam technique during my GCSEs. Exam technique is as important as learning the content as it is all about how u show what u know in exams. Learning how to break down a question so the student can answer the question and how to lay out the question for the examiner are the key skills required to do well.
My teaching method is individualized working to improve skills in problem areas explaining fully and in different methods to improve students maths
Tutoring, for me, is a full-time profession and a personal passion. I dedicate a lot of time to tailoring unique lessons to each of my student’s needs. I use a range of materials during lessons (including worksheets, educational tools/presentations on my iPad and whiteboard learning) to help the student(s) learn in different ways.
During the lesson we go over certain topics based on the syllabus that the tutee is following. Then the tutee is given questions to consolidate understanding of the topic. Closer to exams the tutee is given past papers to do . I am a very patient approachable person.
I'm Janelle, currently studying for my MPharm (Master of Pharmacy) degree at Kings College London. I studied at Wells Cathedral School before moving to the capital for university, and was also a specialist violinist there. Passions in life include music, chemistry, maths, tea and good literature. I have always loved teaching and find it incredibly rewarding.
I like to teach by getting students to understand a topic as a whole therefore questions for exams become much easier for them. I like to explain areas using analogies to help students understand with a lot more ease. If students do not feel motivated i make it my job to get them motivated so they excel in their learning.
Hi! I'm Louise. I'm a college student in my final year, studying French, Maths and Media Studies at A-Level. Having achieved A* at GCSE and A at AS Level, and currently on track for an A this year, I decided I would put this experience and knowledge to good use to help others learn to love maths as I do. I am willing to tutor for GCSE and AS Level Mathematics.
When teaching it is first vital to understand what level a student has prior to tutoring as without the fundamental understanding of mathematics it will be difficult to understand complex equations and algebraic topics. when teaching I like to reinforce the main laws of maths and to repeat work to ensure full understanding.
When teaching, I ensure that I explain the skill we will be using. The child will practise the skill and then I give the child problems to solve using this skill. What makes my teaching unique is that we use the skills to solve real life experiences.
I go through each topic (starting from the basics) and take time on what the the child finds most difficult, as I feel each tutoring needs to specified and moulded around the child and not set to a rigid structure for everyone - which I feel, from experience, is not beneficial.
I plan on giving lessons up to GCSE level. I am a very patient person, who will help the tutee achieve mastery in the particular discipline. I can also help with entrance exams, as a successful grammar school student myself.
- Classes The centre is open for two afternoons a week. Students nominate the same day each week either on Monday or Thursday to attend class and collect their worksheets. They are then welcome to attend on the other day bringing their work for that day with them.
Classes that ensure a deeper learning of maths through in-depth explanations and repetition. I balance my teaching and problem solving with methods to get ready for exams and tests. I also try to put more emphasis on the mathematical creativity that is required for the students to independently carry forward their problem-solving abilities.
My approach is to start with the problem area you want to work on together. We will look at various methods and solutions to the problem. Once you are confident in the knowledge of that area, we will move on to focusing on a variety of exam questions you might face, turning an area of weakness into strength.
I significantly emphasise practice tests and questions and then follow up by explaining to the student the errors they have made. I will then set more questions on these topics to consolidate the students understanding.
My lessons aim to be fairly casual and conversational. I will ask in advance what topics the student would like to cover, and will cover these topics in lessons using PowerPoints and practice questions. Students should be prepared to ask questions about what they do not understand during the lesson.
I am a qualified maths teacher working in a secondary school in Surrey. I am passionate about mathematics and enjoy helping young people achieve their goals with maths. My lessons always start with a recap quiz to make sure that the student is mastering each topic and we are building on previous learning each lesson.
I ask for complete focus and hard work during a lesson but am reluctant to set significant amounts of homework as most students already feel overwhelmed by what they receive from school. I help and encourage students to identify their weaknesses and address these proactively - a valuable skill in itself.
I approach each topic by assessing the students ability and then agree with the students and the parents what their aims are before planning personalized lessons. These lessons will be centered on the student and will be shaped around them as the weeks progress. I aim to get the best out of each student no matter their mathematical ability.
I am a qualified teacher, committed to helping children and adults increase their knowledge, skills and confidence to enable them to achieve their full potential.
I can teach based on any student's needs. Will approach the problem from the students point of view. I love math and you can see the enthusiasm in my work. Every student can learn math if he or she is approached in the right way. Students sometimes feel uncomfortable when they are compared with others at school and this can be the reason they do not like the subject.
My name is Michael, I can offer maths tutoring sessions until the end of August, in which I can answer or go through questions personally about mathematics ranging from primary school to A level for those who are struggling or in need of some guidance.
I focus on the students needs, covering specifically what requires extra help and surrounding content which may be the cause of difficulty
I achieved all A*s and A's at A level and am a top student at my highly ranked school, having received a Cambridge interview for Natural Sciences. I give one-to-one tutoring for high school students year 7-12, in mostly Maths and Biology, but I am flexible to teach other subjects to year 11 and below.
My name is Kaijanee and I currently go to a local Grammar school. Mathematics is one of my strongest subjects and I really love this subject. I got an A* in my maths GCSE's which I took in Year 10 and have also done a Free Standing Mathematics Qualification in Year 11. I am currently studying Mathematics and Further Maths in Sixth Form.
- Classes We offer one to one and small group tuition within a bespoke learning environment. This is real teaching and learning. It is visual, auditory, kinetic and does not sit your child in front of a computer to work through a pre-prepared commercial learning package. This is education at its best... as unique as your child.
