I base my classes on what the students are struggling with most and build up there confidence in these areas first before moving onto any other topic areas. I'll then create a plan and go a topic at a time and only move onto the next when the student has completed a short test and has gained a minimum percentage on this test.
I have always been in top set maths, I think I would be a good maths tutor for younger children also as I seem to have a strong bond with young children. I teach slowly so that the children find it easier to learn. Using examples of things that children find relevant such as snacks, TV shows and games etc.
