Was your GCSE Maths grade disappointing? Is your secondary age child struggling with Maths? Are you a mature student revisiting secondary level maths? Need help? I am offering new students the first lesson for half price.
Where possible, I approach each topic by connecting it with an individuals interests. To engage a horror enthusiast recently, I delivered probability through the crimes of The Joker and delivered sequences through the plotting of a serial killer. On a lighter note, we learnt about area and volume by looking at the size of homes for his favourite animals.
I'm a current MSc Economics and Econometrics student at the University of Nottingham. This course heavily involves Mathematics and Statistics which I enjoy also. I'm able to provide Maths lessons to all students up to A-level. I particularly enjoy (love) algebra.
I adapt my teaching to the learners needs on an individual level. I like to use the basis of different learning styles and intelligences.
I give lessons to small groups and individuals and sometimes to larger groups in both AS-level and GCSE. I firstly like to identify how the students learn best if its visual or by examples and then to identify the weakness and tackle it. I am a friendly person and I am laid back as I will not put unnecessary pressure on the student and I try to make the lessons as much fun as it can possibly be.
I am currently undergoing my Masters in Chemistry at Nottingham Trent University, where I am ready to begin my second year in September. My intentions are to then go on to becoming a Chemistry A level teacher. Throughout my studies I have had many tutors myself and understand that each and every student has their own individual ways around learning.
I find that the best way to learn is through giving examples and answering past questions. This means students can learn what the examiners are looking for so they can achieve the highest marks. However, I find the applications of mathematics in the wider world is fascinating so would like to show students this.
Teaching is person centrered. We will work together to establish the best way each individial learns and we will together adapt to suit that learning style.
Enthusiastic, passionate and patient. Maths is about being creative and brave. The correct answer isn't everything. It's the whole story you tell when solving a problem. Good teaching helps you construct a logical solution that is effficient demonstrates the students understanding.
I tailor each lesson to the student, focusing on the areas they need to improve. I give clear explanations and examples followed by lots of practice to build confidence.
I am an experienced teacher and tutor with over 7 years experience, as well as an expert examiner for the Edexcel and OCR exam boards. I am an excellent communicator and excel in helping students to make rapid progress and achieve higher grades. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a 2.
Recent Physics graduate providing lessons to all ages and levels. I am an experienced tutor who want to give all pupils the tools and methods to achieve their potential. Each child is different so their teaching should be. I tailor each lesson to the individual either working from their curriculum or focusing on problem areas.
Maths is a subject where practice makes perfect, and therefore teach in a way that encourages people to keep trying until they are confident in doing the work, I do this by showing examples and working through work.
I specialise in advising on how students can get from a B/C to an A in order to apply to top University courses. It is hard work for both of us but I am able to support and motivate students. I am also very familiar with the questions that students have not asked and are often too nervous to ask in class for fear of appearing stupid. Most students in every maths class think the same.
My teaching methodology is working through exercise books one on one and offering advice and support, plus creating flash cards and fun activities to help memory. Students are free to ask for help on any of their topics they're finding difficult.
The teaching will be within which criteria’s you are most struggling with and contain the basics of each topic and progressing up to the higher level of your selected topic, there will be a wide range of different activities depending on how you wish to learn whether it is more visual or practice based. My aim is to work round how you best wish to learn.
I've taught a student at primary level, a student at GCSE level and a student taking their A Levels so have a broad range of practice tutoring all levels. I structure my lessons based on each student. Everyone is different and prefer different approaches. However they want me to teach them, I will go with that and try my best to help them.
I would provide children with a warm and welcoming environment in which they can feel comfortable and ready to learn. I believe that encouragement is highly important whilst tutoring children.
As a teacher I am a nice and calm teacher as long as you try as hard as you can. I am an organised person so my lessons/ tutoring will be prepared before hand and I will be able to inform you about what the lesson will be on, when it will be and if you will have to do anything before hand.
I plan lessons with a very high level and customisation of detail based on the student's requirements. The first step is identifying what they are struggling with which will be addressed in following sessions.
I'm Ed, currently a full time student at the university of Reading who's on the way to achieving a first class honours in Meteorology (a Maths and Physics degree). My teaching style revolves around memory games and repetition techniques.
I understand how sometimes teachers and experts in the field use methods that make the subject difficult and so I offer a much more relatable way of learning and overcoming problems. I have only recently been through the course and so my knowledge is fresh but also deep.
I am a mother and have taught GCSE level Maths to my own children that have both gone on to achieve grades 7 in the Maths 9-1 GCSE exams. I introduce the topic and work through examples and ask my students to practise more questions. I then go over tricky questions or any problems they have experienced.
I will focus sessions on what the student is struggling on or what they feel the least confident in. I also have access to a large quantity or revision resources.
I'm very good with kids as I am very patient and friendly, I like to make things interesting rather than reading out of a book. I prefer to create a fun way of learning where appropriate - such as games, powerpoint or other creative ways that can peak kids interest.
My approach to teaching maths is to acknowledge the information in a fun and enjoyable manner as this will encourage the student to learn more and continue to consistently focus on the subject. I am enthusiastic and friendly, this attitude will encourage the children to learn following my support.
I have my own style of teaching and that is by give and take method and lots of analysis. I believe the fastest way to learn math is by understanding it and to understand math you simply need to make an analysis and a simple analysis that can be made by even a primary school students is by questions-and-answers analysis. Trust me and you will understand and discover the beauty of Mathematics.
I base my teaching based on the exam board of the exam. I will go through both exam technique and content but aim to make this interesting for the student, giving them methods to approach questions and revise for exams in their own time and overall understand what they are learning about.
I adapt my teaching method for each individual student. However I predominantly try and get the student to explain out loud their thinking process, which allows me to see where exactly they might be going wrong. At the end of each lesson I will set the student a target for the session (work that will be manageable within their schedule).
Enthusiastic and engaging lessons that will get you hooked on learning the inner workings of the fascinating world of music. I want to know how you think about music too; exploration and experimentation are essential factors in the learning process.
