I have experienced failure throughout my academic experience. Without one-to-ones with mentors and teachers I would not have been able to achieve my successes. I therefore reflect this methodology through my own teaching. I have found that teaching individuals and/or small groups through holistic approaches aids the subject at hand.
Hands on, practical learning. It's the only way when it comes to being creative. You'll learn all the different settings and how to shoot in manual for all types of occasions.
My teaching style varies - because art varies! Per lesson it's great to set each session as a practical and a theory based. This is a common mistake with photography, theory is key to your development and understanding of art.
I heavily believe that practical exercises are the only way to teach photography, it's one thing for me to show you over Skype, but another to do set it up yourself and do it with me. That way you can see what I'm doing for yourself and why I'm doing it. I teach beginners and professionals alike.
I'll teach anyone who wants to learn, no matter your age, experience, current situation etc. My teaching would be tailored around you and exactly what you want to learn, I'll do this through simplified instructions, mixed in with physically showing and guiding you through a process.
I can teach large groups or on a 121 basis. My teaching is style is unique and I have developed a card system which makes understanding the triangle of photography much easier than say watching you tube videos. I have been a professional Photographer working in London for the past 15 years and have recently moved to Dorset with my young family.
I will be giving lessons to those that are still in school (GCSE), College (BTEC, A-Level) & people wanting to take it up as a hobby. I find short sentences, notes & colour is teaching method, as well as voice recordings.
I have been working with photographers of all abilities and I have developed a teaching programme that encourages creativity. It's not about what camera or lens you use, it's about developing your vision, the way you see the world and the way you translate that vision into fantastic photographs. I like to work one to one or in a group, I also do distance tutoring via Skype or email.
I am a very friendly, open, empathetic and patient individual, who knows exactly what the current educational pressure can feel like, and so I personally aim to teach in such a way that calms, prepares and motivates you to produce the best quality work as possible! My teaching method is to always encourage you to express yourself and your passions within your work.
I have a very friendly and patient hands-on approach to teaching. I have experience of teaching groups but prefer one to one tuition. I approach each lesson with simple laid out plans and objectives but appreciate, as with any artistic endeavour, that each student may have their own ideas they wish to approach.
I am warm, friendly and have a huge passion for film and photography, I tailor my tutoring to focus on an individuals development, what they want to learn and how they would like to progress.
I am an experienced and proven trainer and mentor, I have gained many awards and accolades myself being through the system of qualifications means that I am fully aware of all of the criteria and rules to successful image making.
I possess excellent communication and people skills and am an enthusiastic, effective and passionate lecturer with a proven record of helping students progress. I provide a positive learning experience and enjoy sharing knowledge and inspiring and motivating learners of all abilities.
I am an advocate of Humanistic and student centred approaches to teaching. I have a strong commitment to the success of education and personal development for any ages, backgrounds and experiences. I also have experience in online mentoring, informal and non-formal teaching, adult teaching, learning skills tutoring (ESOL, dyslexia, dyspraxia, aphasia).
I teach a lot of already successful photographers in London, helping them to take their career to the next level. If you would like to take your photography up a notch then please don’t hesitate to contact me. If you are more interested in portraiture or fashion photography then check out my Portrait & Fashion site at ianphillips-mclaren.
Practical, hands on, fun. I believe that all lessons should give you access to a skill that you can use in the real world. My teaching style is informal and exploratory, I show you the skills and let you explore them on your own. Photography is an incredible medium, somehow schools have taken the joy out of art based subjects with outdated teaching methods.
Photography may seem easy. It's just aiming a camera and pressing a button right? Wrong. To get that award-winning photo you must consider multiple aspects, such as the lighting, composition, focus of the photo, and many others.
My teaching method is tailored for the student, exploring themes, styles and techniques that the student wishes to learn. The sessions will begin with the basics of photography: the founders and revolutionaries of the art form, how a camera works (e.g shutter speed, aperture, ISO etc).
The student comes first. As a college student myself, I understand the difficulties faced by many who are beginning to take an interest in any of the above subjects and I believe that I can help you through the tough first stages with clarity and friendliness.
I’m 15 Years Old But I have good skills with photography and I can help you learn the basics if you’re a beginner or I can help you learn the advanced way of photography. I can take you out on trips to castles or fields to learn the basics of photography.
My name is Nadia and i am a Luton based photographer/filmmaker. I give classes to 10-18 year olds. Or even younger if they have the talent. My teaching technique depends on "hands on" learning how to use camera. Also teaching them how to tap into creativity for thoughts and inspiration. I will teach.
Hands On is the best way - I think. Online is OK (ish) - but really no substitute for face-to-face, hands-on experience. You will need your own camera and have a mature understanding of what you want to learn and what you want to do with the knowledge. I would prefer groups of like-minded students who can support each-other, as well as absorb ideas they they are exposed to.
I hold a PhD in Art and Communication with Photography as my field of specialism and a PGCE teaching certificate in Post Compulsory Education. At the same time I am a practising photographic artist with an interest in abstract photography.
Providing a flexible structure to learning through practical tasks and assessment of a person or groups individual abilities in order to give them the confidence and ability to enjoy the use of their digital or film equipment and software no matter what stage of ability.
My teaching methods are based around visual learners, photography is very hands on, my tutoring will be exactly the same. I'll teach you the theory but without letting the lessons get boring! Over the course of your tutoring I will offer progress reviews, hints and tricks (Like saving you a fortune on gear).
Easy Learning. Have fun at all levels from beginner to mastery and genius. I teach the love of photography how to apply your passion and tune into your own intuition. How to use research for advanced speedy learning using all modalities available to you.
So, you have a camera. You like taking pictures (who doesn't?). You want more control and better results. But you're not quite sure what to do or what all those buttons and switches are on your camera. I can help you with that. My teaching method is comprised of a step-by-step process and plenty of overlapping of information/description which reinforces previously taught material.
I like to take a practical method in photography as I believe the best way of learning an art is by doing it first and then developing on from what you have made. This involves setting up scenery to perfect still life and the art of good lighting and camera focus. It will also involve photographing in public places.
I'm a practical teacher I would go out on field trips to improve your photography skills and pushing your creative spark. Encouraging you to trust yourself and see life through a lens. Showing tricks to improve your photography and work faster.
