My approach to literature is both critical and personal, where I seek to cull out of my students firstly the influence of the text on them, and further a theoretical and critical analysis of the text. My classes are quite interactive and I encourage dialogue as opposed to a monological lecture.
As a tutor I realise the importance of students understanding the material they are learning.
I base my lessons on deep reading. This includes understanding the story from the characters' understanding of themselves and each other. Setting and voice and action are secondary to what happens inside a character's mind and the words that come from his/her mouth.
I tailor lessons to the student focusing on explaining concepts and then allowing the student to work independently on additional material I supply. I am hands on, friendly and understand that students require different approaches depending on how whether they are visual or verbal learners.
My teaching method is understanding and reflecting. Thus, I believe taking times to listening to your problem, talking to you about it for more details, then I can suggest a solutions that may able to bring you to a higher level achievement.

I am a friendly, enthusiastic and engaging music teacher and professional musician. I have 10 years of teaching experience of all ages and abilities.
I normally prefer to test the students ability in the first few lessons seeing how challenging I can make the lessons. When I have a good idea of the level I then focus on areas where the student is struggling by doing exercises and past papers in this area. Always coming back to difficult subjects is very important.
