G.C.S.E to A level chemistry is mostly recall. Ergo I will not be looking to "teach" understanding if all the student is lookng for is a mediocre grade. High grade A level and University require fundamental understanding of principles both in and outside of strict syllabus of a exam board. Depending on the student priorities a number of approaches are taken.
There is no particular method that I follow. I believe that every student is unique and their needs are different.
Step by step logical progressions underpinned by the Exam board specification for the subject and directed by your curriculum and areas you are currently covering or having difficulty with. I am patient, caring and meticulous in my work - I will put as much in as you do.

My Technique for teaching varies from many, I aim to understand how the student likes to learn and capitalise on that method. Most of the time I find students do not know how to understand the content especially when it comes to science, therefore my lessons tend to be very interactive in order to get the understanding across as opposed to just memorising for exams.
Simple, easy to follow explanation for topics, Flash cards, mind map for quick revision, individual topic based exam question practice. I would start with a recap quiz to see how much of the lesson previous you understood. I would then set a list of aims for us to meet in the start of the lesson. I would then meet those aims throughout the lesson, using a PowerPoint, quizzes and interactive techniques. I will then state the aims again so we can see what we have done and what to continue onto next lesson.
