Having been a voracious reader and keen student of literature from a young age, I love inspiring new generations of students with the same passion that has been so rewarding and formative in my own life. With my tutoring I like to be creative, caring, and approachable, whilst nevertheless aiming to foster a high level of academic attainment.
My teaching method is based on learning through activity and having the right learning environment. Learning through games/play has been the most successful method, especially with the early years.
I am open to teaching in any style that make sure that the student receives the greatest amount of understanding of the subject. If needing to study particular books please specify so that I can make sure that my teaching will best help you. Each session is customized to the students needs so that they gain the best experience from it.
I have not tutored English before but having achieved an A and an A* at GCSE and a B at A Level I feel I have good knowledge to pass on. I feel writing technique is extremely important, especially when comparing literature. I will also go in to how to structure answers and ensure key terminology is used appropriately.
I have a wealth of resources but ultimately adapt my teaching to suit the individual student. I hope to be approachable by making the subject fun, enjoyable and interesting in order to help build confidence - and ultimately achieve success.
I am happy to give advice and revision classes to GCSE or A-Level students. Having recently been through the same process myself I like to think I understand the pressure it can cause and have the tools to navigate them. I believe in consistent and steady revision, setting targets and being realistic.
My name is Reece I have a BA degree in film and TV production. School is stressful especially if you're not feeling too confident in your subject. We can work through it together and make sure that you feel confident when walking into that exam! I won't give you the answers, I will help you to find the answer yourself. It's the best way to learn.
I have experience in primary secondary and Further Education. Over the last ten years I have concentrated on working with children and young people who find studying difficult. My lessons are individual to the you fun and above all meaningful.
I am passionate about enabling students to develop a genuine appreciation of the English language and literature in addition to achieving their full potential. I understand the importance of personalised attention and the difference it makes to a student's chance of success.
My teaching technique is to engage students through creativity and a unique take on every subject to ensure the ability to learn for everyone.
I work closely with my students to improve their confidence and knowledge of the syllabus. However, I focus primarily on exam technique and doing lots of written practice. Students often come to me with a good base level of knowledge from their lessons at school, but struggle to apply it to exam scenarios. I ask my students to complete a weekly assignment so I can monitor their progress closely.
I teach all aspects of English, including comprehension, figurative language, descriptive writing, story structure, poetry, novels, plays etc. I can tutor anyone from 5 to 50, but I mostly help teenagers with their GCSEs, A Levels, SATs and ACTs. I tutor the three main subjects that people seem to want tutoring in; Maths, Science and English.
Hello! My name is Yvonne Mitchell. I am a primary teacher who exudes patience and resilience. Together you and I can practise our reading and phonics; we can help each other to spell; we can read and find out information from a range of text genres. We can enjoy writing for fun...Together we can enjoy the written and spoken word. Through our learning, our confidence will blossom.
My teaching method is highly personalised and I base my lessons on the needs of the learner. I believe anyone can love reading and excel at writing, it's just a case of finding out what that looks like for them.
With over 5 years experience teaching in primary school I understand the challenges and stress that can arise in preparation for the 11 plus and SATS. I give clear instructions and break down the content of what needs to be done so that children feel confident and stress free entering these exams.
I tailor my teaching to individual needs, no specific style, it depends on how easy an individual can understand to retain what's been taught.
I am very caring and understanding, as I have struggled before at school, in areas other than English. I know how frustrating it can seem for pupils, when they haven't quite been taught method which are efficient for their personal learning, and so I want to help this. I have a good way of explaining various language techniques (GCSE students) or even sounding out words for primary school students.
I believe every child has a capability to reach 100% success, but a classroom situation cannot cater to everyone's needs. No two children are the same and this applies to learning, and through my methods and high experience of working with people and getting an accurate perception of them, I can create a learning programme to fit perfectly to a child.
I prefer to cater my teaching to the student, using their interests to tailor lessons to their ability and goals (such as GCSE level, using passages from books they like or about TV like they like). For younger children, I make lessons fun so they retain more information, and for higher level English I will go over school work, essays, and set texts.
I am a student who received A*s in 9 of my GCSE's and has a levels in maths chemistry and biology, with an AS in English literature. I am an excellent communicator and am good at conveying difficult concepts. I am also patient and willing to help you with your academic needs.
I prepare children for KS1 SATs tests, but my main aim is to make lessons enjoyable and a positive experience so that they want to learn. Many children feel they cannot do mathematics because they have find class work difficult.
I give lessons to students preparing for their 11+, GCSE or IB exams. My technique is to cater each lesson to syllabus points to ensure that every possible exam question has been covered confidently. Each student learns differently, so if I notice that a student isn't thriving under my teaching method, I will adapt it.
My teaching method is initially understanding that every individual is different, and tailoring learning plans around how the student learns to deliver the exceptional results. Patience is another key skill that I possess with all students, as I know that learning is occasionally a process that takes time.
My teaching method is one-on-one as each student has different learning style and pace. I structure all my lessons specifically for each student. I aim to meet each student's expectations. This I do by looking at previous academic reports, asking the student what they want to achieve and also by assessing them myself.
