My teaching strategy is directed and inspired by each different student. Each student learns n their unique and personal way. I like experimenting with visual aids and showing the application of Maths in real life. In this way algebra, geometry and much more areas are put into perspective! The use of practicals and inquiry has also become increasingly common in my teaching methods.
I approach each topic indivually, allowing myself to understand and apply concepts before moving on to the next topic.
I am very patient and am willing to teach at the ideal pace for my student. I try to get an understanding of the person I am teaching and try to help them in a way that suits them most.
Before tutoring any child, you must first learn the child’s style of learning. Whether they’re visual, verbal or physical learners..
I like to give one-to-one lessons, using the first meeting to look through the specification of the exam and selecting what the student feels as their strongest and weakest areas and devising a plan of action around this for following lessons.
I work with the UK syllabus for each Key Stage and endeavour to cover the contents therein making sure that I pay more attention to areas that my students struggle in. I work through past exam questions with my students on topics I teach and this helps them to prepare for the real thing.
I aim to use various approaches with my teaching to get an idea of the student's learning style, be it visual, kinaesthetic, auditory etc. I believe they must all be catered to.
