Friendly, knowledgeable and qualified teacher of 14 years. I aim to give all learners higher grades and added confidence and will cater for their individual needs and weaknesses. Help can be given to pupils of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
I teach only up to GCSE Level to account for the change in specification recently - My method of teaching is to assess the level of the student in each topic to be taught, and to focus first on their weaknesses and then to fortify their strengths once their weak points are brought up to a sufficiently high level.
I discuss with the student and parents their goals, the school's scheme of work and analysis/results from practise papers before creating a plan. I like to link topics to the real world and other topics to make them more interesting as well as discussing exam techniques. I adapt my teaching style to the student's learning style, e.g. using visual resources if a visual learner.

I first check and go through Homework set from the week before. I then go over and teach new topics and topics students are weak at. Sometimes the learner has a choice in choosing what they want to learn. I then set them homework for the next time I see them and regularly test them on what we have learnt.
I give lessons to students looking for support for their GCSE maths course. I like to work over practice papers with students, and help them go over questions that they have trouble visualising or understanding, as well as offering them feedback on what they are doing well, because it is important to maintain positivity with young students.
I aim to understand the current ability level of the learner and build an appropriate coaching plan to build on strengths and improve on weaknesses. I’m a firm believer that one size does not fit all and tailor classes accordingly.
I love engaging with my student and focusing on areas of weakness to build their skills. With my knowledge in these subjects, my students are assured to succeed.

Each lesson will begin with a short recap on the previous lesson, or a look over any work that was set. Then we will go through some sample questions of a new topic before I ask you to try them on your own. If I feel it is needed, I will also set some further practice questions to consolidate your learning.

My teaching methodology is based on approaching the subject from the outside in. To understand the idea of the topic first and then learn the skills in the detail to solve problems. I teach from Year 9 to A-level. I spend time discussing the subject matter with the students at the beginning and then believe in rigorous practice using a variety of resources.
I teach by having secure subject knowledge, high expectations of each student and understanding of how to prepare for examinations.
Instead of giving lectures and solving doubts as they ask I make my students participate. When teaching a new topic I give lots of examples and keep questioning the student. When asked about a doubt in that topic after it has been taught I make the students clear their own doubts by counter questioning and giving them clues.
I believe in quick pace lessons. A mixture of teacher input, paired work and individual tasks. With visual aids and games to enhance learning.
My lessons are based around the needs of the child and look at how they can progress. They are planned and prepared for in advance. Any input from the parents or child with regards to their targets are preferred. Lessons will roughly be an hour long following shanghai maths where possible.
