One-to-One lessons based around students desired topics, or alternatively based around upcoming assessments, in order to prepare for examinations, or set assignments. Wide variety of teaching techniques from exam technique to problem solving and creative games based learning activities also.
I am currently a mathematics student at Warwick looking to share my knowledge and all that I have learnt in order to help and work with students to achieve their aims. I am enthusiastic about my subject and dedicated in providing an effective and enjoyable environment for students to learn.
Explaining through examples and description, but also going through methods and testing the student, whilst highlighting the most important part of an answer that will score marks. Lessons will be started by asking the student if they have anything they're stuck on and want attention on and the lesson will lead from there to aim that they understand what they previously didn't.
My teaching method is to identify strong/weak points and gradually improve the students overall knowledge and application of a subject, relating to real world situations as much as possible. I have taught A level Chemistry and maths and KS3-GCSE maths and science.
In first lessons, I quickly understand the weak points. From there onwards, the student and I work together to turn those weaknesses into strength. Every lesson, as well as covering theory, I also go through practical real-life examples and the exam style question related to the topic of the lesson.
I am an aeronautical engineering student going into second year next year. In my previous experience I have based my teaching methods on whom I have to teach. For example, when teaching a primary school child/ someone who is learning a topic from scratch, I focus on making sure the student understands the method.
I would like to base my classes according to an individual and look to improve and work on their weaknesses. I like to understand the structure of an exam and really look to understand the best way of approaching it, whilst also making sure to understand each sub topic for each exam.
My teaching methodology is logic focused which ensures that not only do they learn about things that happen but why do they happen and what is the use of such things. It will be mainly interactive sessions where I will ask the student's questions and they'll ask me questions. This way they will form multiple memories associated with a topic which will make it harder for them to forget said topic.
Open to teaching all mathematics up to A Level. I would focus our lessons on the areas that the student wanted to focus on, including any specific areas of weakness, while adhering to the national curriculum. I am a patient teacher, with much experience in teaching young children.
I teach students from Year 1 up to Year 10. I don't have a fixed teaching method and find students often learn best in different ways in order to enhance their learning ability.
I like to draw up a plan initially with the student(s) so that there is some sense of direction with what is going to happen and when. Within the plan there is always flexibility if more emphasis is needed on particular topics, then this can be accommodated for.
I believe in building an understanding of my students process of thought. The great thing about 1 on 1 tutoring is the student is taught in bespoke method. For e.g. Often a student would understand maths in a visual way, for these students I incorporate visual learning techniques in the session as much as possible and vice versa.
I would like the student to tell me what to do preferably, however the if the student is struggling to decide what he/she needs help with, I can test the student and look at the syllabus and work from there.
I'm a Mathematics student at Brunel University qualified to teach primary school kids up to GCSE students. Teaching will be based around what the pupil needs help with; whether it's specific topics or the subject as a whole. Lessons can be taught online via Skype or if local, student can travel to me, or I can travel to them.
I am able to teach students from Key Stage 3 up to GCSE in subjects relating to maths, chemistry and physics. Lessons would be based on your current knowledge of the subject, and built up from then on.
The first step I take in my approach to tutoring new students is to understand and assess their strengths and weaknesses. I use different styles and methods of teaching depending upon the student's ability and attitude. My main method is to first listen to the student's problems and help.
I'll be starting Maths at Imperial in September, and so I'm confident in teaching almost all areas of maths up to A Level. We'll talk about what goal you have in mind, what grade you want in what exam etc. and go through papers and questions. I'll try to change between a hands on demonstration of how to approach maths, and a laid back approach, letting you talk me through everything you're doing.
My lesson structure is quite simple. Go over each part of specification in detail. Do past exam questions over them. Finally, go over mistakes and keep practicing. I am also very friendly and calm, so be sure to have a positive experience when learning with me.
I am passionate in helping students exceed their ability and build their confidence. I tailor my approach to each individual`s needs and devise a personal plan based on their level of understanding and knowledge. Students learn differently and I always patiently work with them to determine what is best for them.
As I am offering lessons to Key stage 1&2 students, I would plan my lessons to be as fun as possible where students can learn and enjoy the subject at the same time. my main aim is to boost the student's ability but also to make the student enjoy the subject and have a positive approach. I plan my lessons in a structured way where I start off by ensuring the student knows the content of the topic.
I can ensure that I adapt my style of teaching to suit each individual as this ensures each student performs to the best of their abilities. I have had great success with 11+ students. I also create a personalised programme for each student to follow so that they can achieve their goals. This means that every student works at the pace that will allow them to bring out the best of themselves.
I will be teaching 1 to 1 lessons on the maths syllabus that you are doing. I plan on covering the topics that you struggle with and help you understand and be able to tackle the toughest questions, while also solidifying the topics you are better at.
My teaching method is finding how each student learns each topic how they see things because each person learns differently either verbally or objects.
My teaching method is based on presenting the student with a large variety of questions of varying difficulty after I have concisely explained methods to them. I will aim to provide the student with different methods of answering questions so that they may be able to choose what they prefer.
I teaching method is very individualistic and pay attention to every child differently, prioritising their needs and weaknesses. I provide extra resources and past exam papers on the particular subject area. I like to follow a schedule and therefore make a timetable on the first day and work towards it.
Practice makes perfect, I believe students fail to realise how important applying the knowledge they’ve learnt instead of revising over notes.
My teaching method is working on a students weaknesses and doing practise questions. I will get the student to do the work by themselves and mark their work and see where they went wrong and target those areas.
Hey everyone, i am an a-level student studying further maths and mathematics. I got a grade 9 (a**) at GCSE for maths and tutor from ages of 3-16. My technique to learning would be one-to-one learning whereby i will explain the topic and method and provide questions for the student to answer. These questions will vary in difficult from just skills to problem solving.
A firm believer that teaching style should be different for every student. I strive to deliver results by adopting an individualistic teaching method that will help my student understand concepts in his or her own way and apply them correctly and effectively.
I have a 2:1 degree qualification in BSc Mathematics, and am able to teach students of all levels, being able to adapt to different pupil needs. I will be able to focus with you on areas where you need extra help/attention or help you prepare for your upcoming exams. My simplistic way of teaching involves teaching some theory, providing examples and then setting tasks.
