Hi! My name is Alex and I'm a keen mathematician who is hoping to study Chemical Engineering next year. I have always had a passion for problem solving and I love passing this on to my students. I am able to give lessons to students studying Maths from year 7-11 in the Warwickshire area.
My teaching approach is based on easy quick and different methods which help the students understand their subject in a better way
I strongly believe parents are of vital importance in the 11+ process, which is why I have tailored lesson plans which I make in front of the child and the parents to straighten out any weak points in the childs understanding and to open a channel of communication amongst ourselves. Mostly, I enjoy teaching children who have a desire for learning and those who enjoy a challenge.
I give lessons to all students in A-level/GCSE. I prefer to get in contact with the students in advance to know what topics they would like to cover, and decide on the content of the lesson based on what their goals are both for short and long terms.
I find the best way to get good at maths is to practice questions - especially when preparing for exams - so that nothing that comes up can surprise you! I’m a big fan of mnemonic devices for remembering formulas!
I believe that the student should be first taught the theoretical base and the assumption of the problem, starting from theorems and proofs. Then, simple examples should give the student a glimpse of what these methods can do, in a fun and interesting way for the student, before solving complicated and more advanced exercises.
My teaching method is fairly simple and I aim at breaking down topics into concise parts and understanding each one before moving on to the next. Even though I do not emphasise on excessive homework, regular revision is essential. I would aim at teaching students in middle school or high school as having been in their shoes I feel I can help them out.

My teaching methodology varies according to the level of student. For a GSCE pupil I will typically follow their syllabus. Whereas with A2 and university level students I employ a more hands off approach where I answer their questions regarding specific queries of the module. In both cases I attempt to find where any misunderstanding lies and remedy the situation from there.
I am in my first year at the University of Warwick studying Economics, which heavily involves Maths. I am looking to give Maths lessons to any student between the ages of 8 and 16 from July to September, to help them either with 11+ exams, GCSE exams, or to have a headstart going into the new year.
I try to base each lesson on what the student needs and wants, trying to make each lesson fun and enjoyable. I can take requests on which topic the student needs, work through the current syllabus with worksheets or past papers during the lesson.
I am currently a 2nd year university student studying for an MMath. I am adaptable to the needs of my tutees, tailoring sessions according to the level and pace that they are working at. I am not a standard 'classroom teacher', I will work with tutees to see what method of learning they respond best too. This way we can get the most out of these sessions.
My teaching method is concentrate on every child, children should enjoy learning.
I am educated to Ph.D. level from Warwick University. My experience centres on preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (Maths and Physics). I am very patient and can tutor students of various abilities. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Maths and Physics. - Tell me about your qualifications. Ph.D Applied Mathematics - Warwick University B.
Given the cumulative nature of Maths, I understand the frustration of having gaps in your foundation knowledge which leads to students just memorising formulas and rules.
I have graduated University College London reading Pharmacology (2:1 honours degree). For A level I achieved A*, A* and A in maths, biology and chemistry respectively. I would like to offer private tuition for students struggling with GCSE science and maths and A level biology. Having a solid background in science I am very enthusiastic about these subjects.
My main teaching goal is to not hand the student the answer but enable them the means to work it out. I am open to many different methods that will fit the students style of learning as I believe every student learns differently.
For Maths, my method is to go over questions, especially ones which prove challenging, and guide the student through them so they can build up their confidence in their ability. For Physics and Science in general my method is to tutor topic by topic, going over key ideas for each section, consolidating what the student may have already been taught and giving them confidence in the subject.
