I base my lessons on application of knowledge. I feel it is important to learn the basics behind a topic then apply that knowledge to a physical question. I also feel that visualisation is important and i enjoy the use of analogy's.
I aim to provide the best opportunity for success using my experience and knowledge of education. My aim is to encourage students to develop their mathematical and scientific skills in order to achieve their full potential. I treat every student as an individual whilst recognising their strengths and weaknesses.
My teaching method is a demonstrator or coach style especially in maths and science. I usually introduce the topic and demonstrate different methods on board and then allow leaner to take practice. In Science I tend to use the facilitator method whereby I ask questions and this helps learners' to develop skills to find answers and solutions through exploration.
My teaching method is to explain in a simple way and do the work. In Maths, practice can make you do the work faster.
I’m too flexible and I will teach you what ever way you want and whenever but you should need have interest too
I came into teaching as my first choice career out of university and thoroughly enjoy the time I spend with students in my classroom. I believe education should be fun and inspiring, with the skills taught helping to shape young lives. Tutoring should be more than homework help and should help to further students on this journey.
Practice, practice and practice... I believe that in most cases questions and past papers are the best way to learn. It allows you to understand the content and gain exam skills that you will be able to apply later during you GCSEs.
Hello, My name is Megan and I am a Chemistry graduate of Queen Mary University of London (Russell Group) having achieved a 1st class degree. I have over 4 years of tutoring experience working with over 50 students of a varying abilities. I currently hold an enhanced DBS check (formerly CRB) and work for numerous well recognised tutoring companies.
My Teaching Methodology very simple and systematic by using day-to-day examples. My aim is to make the students understand the basic concepts of the subject which in turn enhances their ability of critical thinking and approach.
As a student I mainly work with other students and a some younger students occasionally. I like to work one to one and I believe the best way to learn is by by doing. First, the basics, then a run through of the methods, the ideas and then a chance for the student to try it for themselves. Practise makes perfect.
I am open to tutoring Mathematics at the KS1, KS2, KS3 and GCSE levels. I am also open to tutoring any students that struggle with any aspects of any of the combined sciences (biology, chemistry or physics) at KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE and A Level.
It doesn't matter what age you are, or what ability you do or don't have, my aim is to get you playing and excited about music. I also offer tuition in Maths. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach Saxophone, Clarinet and Piano. As a jazz musician with regular gigs, my instinct is to teach with a slightly more contemporary and edgy feel.
My main aim is to encourage engagement in the subject so that students are motivated to achieve their full potential. My tutor sessions involve a range of activities which focus on establishing a solid core knowledge base upon which a deeper understanding can be built.
I´m a mechanical engineering with previous experience tutoring high school students in order to endorse the knowledge acquired at school. Complete availability and flexibility for lessons of single or group students.
I am an Undergrad currently studying mechanical engineering. I am very good at mathematics and even more good at being able to get people to understand it. I am looking for GCSE and A level students. I would also be willing to take on Undergraduates between a foundation and pen-ultimate year level.
I am currently on track for a 1st in my degree. First I find out which topic the student is struggling most with and start there. I start the lesson either introducing or going through the topic. Then spend the second half of the lesson going through worked examples. In the next lesson I then do a recap to see if the student has remembered.
I am an engineering student and aim to base lessons around the government syllabus for the required school level, focusing on specific problem areas for each individual. I aim to cover the main points making sure the student understands what and why they are studying and reinforcing this with practise questions and past papers.
I would like to tutor students based of their needs and personal preference. I will contact students prior to their first session so that I can plan what will suit them, based of their learning needs. I'd also like to provide students with my notes and resources that I used for my own exams.
I believe in patience where necessary, whilst consistently pushing the student to realise their capacity for understanding (which we often in ourselves neglect). I am passionate to instil an interest and curiosity in the studied subjects, whilst creating a methodical but approachable environment in which the need for effective communication is never overlooked.
So far most of my students have been A-level physics and A-level maths students, these are therefore the subjects I am most comfortable teaching. However I have occasionally tutored GCSE maths students and helped fellow students with advanced calculus at university.
As my knowledge is limited to A-level knowledge, tutoring for A-levels and GCSEs are what would be taught. I believe that the way to best approach exams is to focus mainly on weaknesses as there is a tendency for larger questions to be based on what a typical student would struggle with. Hence, if you have a strength where others mainly have a weakness, success in exams is more likely.
I am a Science & Maths Teacher and Tutor - Physics, Biology & Chemistry. All levels are covered from KS2, KS3, GCSE & A-Level. Experienced with all levels & abilities including SEN, Dyslexia, Gifted & Talented, ADHD and autism. I strive to make my lessons fun, interesting and relevant to the students life and interests to maximise their engagement and learning.
I could give lessons to anyone from Year 7 to Year 13 in both Physics and Maths. As someone who left Year 13 only a year ago, I have recent experience of both GCSEs and A-Levels. I, therefore, understand how important it is for a tutor to be patient and understanding of all types of questions and problems.
I am a fully qualified (PGCE) UK based teacher of both science and mathematics. I cover all topics in both science and mathematics for students aged 11-16, and follow UK curriculum for KS3 and all other exam board specifications at KS4 GCSE - but I can be flexible and adaptable.
If I'm presented with a hurdle that a student has, I try to explain things in small chunks, and in ways the student can easily visualize the connections that are needed to be made. I try and make things informal and friendly, so that there's a good flow of information and ideas between us.
I employ various methods that have proven to be successful. It depends on what you are studying and what your goals are, I will suggest a plan for you.
My classes would be fun, interactive and inspire a love for learning. I am flexible about the content of the lessons although I am well organised and would be proficient at planning effective lesson content. I am also passionate about the subjects I am offering and would take time out to do extra research for lessons at the students benefit for any questions asked.
I explain each topic in a simple and clear way by illustrating live examples and develop lot of interactions with the students like question and answer sessions. Once he/she is clear with the topic, then we will move on with the next topic.
My teaching method will be tailored to each individual student, adapting to their pace and style of learning, as well as giving them a lot of patience. Whether they need help with past paper questions or the content, I am happy to help.
As a one to one or small group tutor I will help to break down the myths and misconceptions of science. I love to relate the words on the page to how we can understand the world around us. I can break down subjects into really easy chunks or stretch students to apply or evaluate topics.
