I am willing to tutor in Media Studies as well as English Language & Literature, Geography and Religious Studies GCSE subjects. Also, I am glad to help KS3 students prepare for KS4. Within tutoring sessions, I will gather where the student is weak within the given subject and provide a special emphasis on these issues as well as guiding them through the whole syllabus.

Teaching is my third and final career and I love it. I get on extremely well with students of all ages and abilities and enjoy watching their confidence and competence develop quickly as they begin to achieve more than they thought possible.
I engage students with media in a unique way - by being creative and critical with pupils, I allow them to create their own content and practice putting their new found skills to use, as they would in any media job.
Always have used illustrations and stories to memorize tricky things, and real life examples and demonstrations to explain things better. Keyword definitions and important numbers/facts I find can most easily be learnt with a story and a drawing. Even something silly and small.
My teaching methodology is very much dependent on each and every students needs. I am very versatile and can adapt to all scenarios. I understand that we are all different in our learning and in our first session we will figure out what our best approach will be.
I am a conscientious teacher who understands that every student is different and needs to be listened to carefully, that students perform best when they aim high, and that open communication of expectations and concerns are the most effective way to work together.
I am new to tutoring so I have not yet found the most suitable teaching method. My approach is to tailor each lesson to my students and understand what their needs are so that I can help them to the best of my ability.
I teach at different levels (from Nat 5 through HNC to degree) using a lecture/workshop discussion format. I feel its important to link lessons with the students' lived experiences to make the ideas easily understood. I utilize a mix of reading materials, online videos and discussions as part of my practice.
I want my classes to be open and friendly, and based on discussion around a particular topic. I am a friendly and personable person, and create an environment where the student can feel relaxed and able to ask anything they want about particular subject.
I think lessons should be exciting and engaging and work hard to plan learning activities that will not only help students to make academic progress but also foster enthusiasm for learning. I pay close attention to the different learning styles of students and am well practiced in dynamically assessing and responding to their needs and interests.
I enjoy exploring topics with zeal! I have deep passion for all of my knowledge areas, and can adapt well to student's learning habits. I can teach younger students (14+) up to A-level standard. I'm also proficient at essay-writing skills.
My teaching method is based upon how the student learns. I will take my time if students are finding the task difficult by remaining calm and positive. I like to give goals for the lesson and achieve them by the end of that time. The goals will be made by both me and the student to what I feel is achievable.
I want to get to know you! and your passions in media and incorporating that into your work in order to make the work enjoyable.
While studying this very qualification myself, I developed an effective system of various highly beneficial resources. This includes online tools, notes, books, quizzes, revision guides etc., which have been praised by several examiners of the OCR specification. My approach is uniquely tailored to the new specification of exams which is radically different.
My teaching method is just giving tips on questions students may ask! I help individuals with their Psychology A level or their Psychology degree.
In my Alevel Sociology lessons, I use a wide range of up-to-date academic and news-media sources, combining my sociology skills in imparting expertise and knowledge in class with a student-centred, research approach where homework is concerned.
While admittedly I have no prior experience of tutoring, I am very passionate about making learning enjoyable and adaptable for my students. I have a large quantity of notes and text books on History, English and Media Studies, varying from intermediate to academic, which I will use during my lessons.
I am interested in teaching GCSE or A Level students and would start by assessing the current level and course of study of my student (i.e which exam board/ school year/ areas in which a student may be struggling/ wishes to boost their knowledge).
I am a 20 year old student living in Dundee who is currently at university. I can provide tutoring to a variety of levels such as higher and degree level.
Before my lessons, I make detailed lesson plans on the topic I am going to be teaching so my students can go back to these materials and use them as revision guides. I cover content, exam questions and exam tips during my lessons. I mainly focus on the child's weaknesses and change my lesson plans based on their weaknesses so the materials are more beneficial.
I will base my lessons according to what learning methods suit the pupil as I understand different people learn in different ways. I am also able to provide revision techniques and notes. I understand the pressure pupils are under during these difficult years so I won't rush my teaching as the pupils' welfare and mental health is just an important.
I aim for each session with students to be casual but worthwhile. By engaging with how the students learn best I will develop a teaching strategy that would cater to their personal abilities and requirements. My friendly and sympathetic approach towards any student that is struggling will make the learning process far more bearable and enjoyable.
The main component of my teaching style consists incorporating real life context to my lessons. I have seen that this method of teaching allows students to apply what they already know to a topic so the new information is easy digestible. It also works in their favour as they are able to have up to date example to use in exams to corroborate their argument.
I believe that the best method when working with students one-on-one is to listen to individual needs and confusions in order to rectify them. When areas of vulnerability or insecurity arise, I can mediate them using analogy, clear and careful explanation and examples.
My teaching method is very hands on. We do lots of different activities based on the pupils learning style. I give examples using objects and verbal communication. I teach pupils in age groups ranging from primary school all the way up to college. (5-18).
