Hi my name is Giovanni, I'm 29 years old and I am a freelance chef. I started to work in Italy and than I came to London to make new working and life experiences.
My classes are approximately 1 hour and half and are structured and well organised. Content comprises the teaching of basic culinary skills, healthy eating and food technology. A meal - main or dessert - is cooked every lesson and the dishes cooked are familiar, well known and are drawn from many cultures and traditions.
Cooking is joy. I just let it be. No fixed grams or anything like that. I like the idea that everything can be fixed and that everyone can learn from their own mistakes to meet their own perfect dish. Creativity is the key for occasional cooking, but if someone is in need of ideas and methods for a new weekly meal plan I am more than excited to take on the challenge.
My teaching method is to break everything down into steps. Some people find trying out and cooking new recipes daunting so I like to show people that it's easy when you split the sum of recipe into parts.
My methodology is to start of easy and then build up towards something more complicated. Of course, I will work toward and by student demands, but essential knowledge is key. I will work with students on understanding, interpreting and even tweaking recipes. My aim is to ease them into experimenting, as it is the best way to learn your way around the kitchen and cooking.

My training includes visiting yachts, houses and restaurants where my students are taught basic, intermediate and ad vanced cooking techniques. I will also deal with some of the important topics that are often neglected, health and hygiene and menu planning. I tend to use a combination of teaching techniques, handouts, live cookery demonstration, superivsed pro active cookery classes, hands on instruction, eat what you make and tutoring whilst learner is doing. Happy to create a bespoke extended cookery course.
My teaching method is basically to show the person(s) what is required in basic cooking, techniques, safety aspects of cooking (do's and don'ts) and the achievements/sense of satisfaction you get from this. I approach teaching with a hands on approach. I believe people learn well from a "monkey see monkey do" approach but I have also got the theory in the bag if need be. I hope that when you leave with some of my knowledge and experience you will be a happy chappy.
Although the basics will vary only a little, lessons have to be tailored to individuals - it goes without saying that a student looking for a grounding in basic, affordable nutrition will have far different demands from somebody looking for fine-dining lessons to cater for a dinner party or another looking to learn about costing and budgeting for a large family.
