Hello. I am Pete and I tutor physics and occasionally maths. - Which subject(s) do you teach? Physics and maths, including the Oxford PAT. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a physics degree from Oxford University. - How much do you charge? £35/hour plus £5 travel, evenings and weekends. Cheaper rates available between 9 and 2:30 weekdays during term time.
My teaching method involves visualisation and examples that a student can use to understand the workings of a section. The reason why I use this approach is so the student is still able to expand their knowledge even further and not forget about the core principle. For example, trying to understand the definition of inheritance in computing can be shown as code...
I base my classes by building up on the knowledge the kids already have. I have certain mnemonics that help students understand and memorize the subject matter better. Using semantic learning and everyday examples to logically connect the problem to a more familiar scenario is one of my approaches that works very well with younger students.
Initially, i will start the first session as a 'Taster Session' where i get to know more about the student's strengths and weaknesses by giving them a sample paper for me to asses their ability so that i am aware of the areas in which they need work on and which areas they can develop further in.
I like to make my subjects as enjoyable as possible as I understand how tedious it can be, especially during secondary school and college. I aim to make my students understand and question rather than just memorise as i think this is the key to retaining and recalling information and ultimately, succeeding academically.
My teaching method ensures that my students are experts when it comes to exam technique, this is focused around allowing my students time to understand the content they are learning rather than memorising it. The best way to learn it to appreciate how the content can be applied, and through this my students can learn in the most effective way.
Due to the broad subject areas in mathematics, my teaching evolves around practising every possible question as it prepares you at the best for your future exams. I am patient and determined whilst teaching, my methods are fun as I wish these classes not to be forced but a time of relax whist still challenging yourself to do the best.
I give additional assistance to those who need it to get the highest that they can possibly achieve in GCSE Maths (9 - 1). Instead of just giving past papers like most tutors would I explain the each topic so that the student is able to understand it fully and then give them a few questions to ensure that they can apply the knowledge that they have just gained.
I am looking to tutor GCSE students on any areas of weakness or the entire syllabus. I will provide lessons that will be accommodating in order to work with each student individually and tailor to what is best for their needs. I will try to make lessons fun as this will motivate the child to work harder and enjoy the subject more.
I've studied maths up to a levels and have an A * in maths GCSEs. I have experience working with young people in both a social setting and an educational setting and have worked with children in the past to help them with their English and maths.
I teach according to the student's needs. If quick question answers is effective , i'll aid in fastening the pace of the student to ensure the standard of his/her learning is high.
My teaching method is focusing directly on the main points of the lesson, which helps to connect the students quickly with the course, understanding the difficult points, and practicing on the important sections of the courses. Students achieve the best results with a Face-to face meeting .
- Classes With most school classes packed with 25-30 children, it doesn't take a Maths genius to work out how much one-to-one time your child is going to get with their teacher per hour. Our class sizes are 9 maximum, with an average of 6. Or you can choose one-to-one. - Ages and Levels Covered We provide tuition for children between the ages of 4-18.
I'm a Law Graduate, who has completed the LPC. Have a vast amount of experience tutoring both Maths and English with a variety of different children - different abilities and many with disabilities also. Have taught both one on one and also classroom based scenarios. I try to help the student understand tricky topics using practical methods and explanations, rather than simply just memorising.
I usually like teaching with examples and showing how there can be many different methods of solving one maths problem. Physics can be made even more fun by illustrating real life applications.
I prefer to teach by topic and then do masses of questions on it as it helps build an understanding. I also link topics together to further increase understanding.
My teaching methods are based on my student capabilities and their efficiency to adapt to different ways of learning. This is a brief list of the things I do with my students to improve their understanding of the subject: 1. Read from the book and try to extract and analyse key information in their mind. 2. Read again thoroughly highlighting key points and making brief and efficient notes.
My teaching method is individual or sometimes in group. I base my classes mostly at my home.
I aim to tutor students anywhere from primary school level to A level standard. Having done mathematics for the past 13 years my teaching methods have been enhanced through my journey and my methodology consists of practise and repetition. Along side this I aim to deliver explanations and tricks to unorthodox maths questions that allow students to stand out from the rest of the candidates.
My teaching is based on understanding a subject through logical reasoning and them applying the knowledge to exercises and real-life examples
My teaching methods are simple. I am very organised and work around the simple idea that you can’t move forward unless you have a plan.

I provide tuition in mathematics key stages 1,2&3 as well as A-level economics AQA.
My teaching method is based on the educational curriculum and I follow the contents in order. I try to mirror the topics that the kids cover in school so that there is no confusion for them.
